স্কট বিডসট্রাপ (Scott Bidstrup) লেখেছেন: “Leviticus 11:13-19 refers to bats as fowl, when in fact they are mammals. In the Good News bible, he then goes on in 11:20-21 to declare to be an abomination any fowl that "creep, going on all four..." when there is no such a bird. The 'revised' King James Version, distributed by the Gideons, on the other hand, distinguishes insects from birds, which the GNB does not. The Apologist's Explanation The ancients thought of the bats as birds. The Rational Explanation As for bats being birds, where are the feathers? The skin-covered wings, and the hair are good clues that these aren't birds. Maybe a human author of Leviticus might think so, but this is God that is supposed to be writing this. If God created the bats, he surely knew he wasn't creating a bird and wouldn't have said he was.”
‘‘লেবীয় ১১/১৩-১৯ বলছে যে, বাদুড় পাখি। কিন্তু বাস্তবে বাদুড় স্তন্যপায়ী প্রাণি। গুড নিউজ বাইবেল (এবং কিং জেমস ভার্শন) ১১/২০-২১ শ্লোকে বলছে যে, কিছু পাখি চার পায়ে চলাচল করে। অথচ এমন কোনো পাখির অস্তিত্ব নেই। গিডিয়োনস পরিবেশিত সংশোধিত কিং জেমস ভার্শনে অবশ্য পতঙ্গকে পাখী থেকে পৃথক করা হয়েছে। গুড নিউজ বাইবেলে তা করা হয়নি। প্রচারকরা ওজর পেশ করেন যে, প্রাচীন কালের মানুষেরা বাদুড়কে পাখি মনে করত। যৌক্তিক ব্যাখ্যা হল বাদুড়কে পাখি মনে করা হবে কেন? বাদুড়ের পালক কোথায়? বাদুড়ের চামড়ায় ঢাকা ডানা এবং চুল তাকে পাখি মনে না করার সুন্দর সূত্র। লেবীয় পুস্তকের মানুষ লেখক বাদুড়কে পাখি বলে মনে করে থাকতে পারেন। কিন্তু বাইবেল তো ঈশ্বর লেখেছেন বলেই দাবি করা হয়। যদি ঈশ্বর বাদুড়কে সৃষ্টি করে থাকেন তবে নিশ্চিত জানতেন যে, এটাকে তিনি পাখি হিসেবে সৃষ্টি করেননি এবং তিনি এটাকে পাখি বলতেন না।’’[1]
জবাবঃ “আর পক্ষীগণের মধ্যে এই সকল তোমাদের পক্ষে ঘৃণার্হ হইবে; এই সকল অখাদ্য, এই সকল ঘৃণার্হ; ঈগল, হাড় গিলা ও কুরল, চিল ও আপন আপন জাতি অনুসারে শকুন, এবং আপন আপন জাতি অনুসারে যাবতীয় কাক, উষ্ট্রপক্ষী, রাত্রিশ্যেন ও গাংচিল, এবং আপন আপন জাতি অনুসারে শ্যেন, পেচক, মাছরাঙ্গা ও মহাপেচক, দীর্ঘগল হংস, পানিভেলা ও শকুনী, সারস এবং আপন আপন জাতি অনুসারে বক, টিট্টিভ ও বাদুড়।”-লেবীয়১১:১৩-১৯;
সমালোচকেরা দাবি করেছে ইয়াওয়ে এলোহীম জানতেন না যে, বাদুড় পাখী নয় যদিও আমরা জানি ইয়াওয়ে এলোহীম সর্বশক্তিমান তিনি সর্বজ্ঞ। লেবীয় পুস্তক ১১:১৩; পদে পক্ষী (পাখী) বোঝাতে যে হিব্রু শব্দ ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে তার প্রকৃত অর্থ হলো ডানাওয়ালা প্রাণী (Winged Creature/ Flying creatures) ISV Translation এই পদের অনুবাদ করেছে Winged Creature হিসাবেঃ

ইয়াওয়ে এলোহীমকে যিনি বলেছেন তিনি জানতেন না যে বাদুড় পাখি নয়! তিনিই যে পবিত্র বাইবেলের জ্ঞনে অজ্ঞ তা প্রমানিত হয়েছে। আমি তার লেখা পড়ে দেখেছি তিনি পবিত্র বাইবেলের ভূল ধরার চেষ্টা করে ইসলাম প্রচার করেন। তবে সেই সুত্রে আমিও তাকে / তাদের একি প্রশ্ন করতে পারি। কুরআনে সূরা৫ আয়াতঃ১১০ বলা হয়েছে ঈসা মসীহ কাঁদা দিয়ে পাখি বানাতেনঃ
যখন আল্লাহ বলবেন,‘হে মারইয়ামের পুত্র ঈসা, তোমার উপর ও তোমার মাতার উপর আমার নি‘আমত স্মরণ কর, যখন আমি তোমাকে শক্তিশালী করেছিলাম পবিত্র আত্মা* দিয়ে, তুমি মানুষের সাথে কথা বলতে দোলনায় ও পরিণত বয়সে। আর যখন আমি তোমাকে শিক্ষা দিয়েছিলাম কিতাব, হিকমাত, তাওরাত ও ইনজীল; আর যখন আমার আদেশে কাদামাটি থেকে পাখির আকৃতির মত গঠন করতে এবং তাতে ফুঁক দিতে, ফলে আমার আদেশে তা পাখি হয়ে যেত। আর তুমি আমার আদেশে জন্মান্ধ ও কুষ্ঠ রোগীকে সুস্থ করতে এবং যখন আমার আদেশে তুমি মৃতকে জীবিত বের করতে। আর যখন তুমি স্পষ্ট প্রমাণাদি নিয়ে এসেছিলে তখন আমি বনী ইসরাঈলকে তোমার থেকে ফিরিয়ে রেখেছিলাম। অতঃপর তাদের মধ্যে যারা কুফরী করেছিল তারা বলেছিল, এতো স্পষ্ট যাদু। আল-বায়ান[3]
বিখ্যাত তাফসীরকারী ইবনে আব্বাস এই আয়াতের ব্যাখ্যায় লিখেছেন ঈসা মসীহ মাটি দিয়ে যে পাখি তৈরী করেছিলেন বা করতেন সেটা বাদুড় ছিলঃ
5.110 Abbas - Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs
(When Allah saith: O Jesus, son of Mary! তাহলে একি প্রশ্ন আমরাও করতে পারি!!! বাদুড় পাখি নয় সেটা আপনাদের স্রষ্টা জানতেন না?
